Egypt is eager to enhance economic and trade relations with Japan in alignment with their strengthened political bonds
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed the importance of serious efforts by the international community to achieve fair and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause in accordance with the international legitimacy resolutions.
Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit Egypt on Saturday as part of a trip to the Middle East and Africa, Japanese Ambassador to Cairo Oka Hiroshi has told state’s news agency MENA.
The Egyptian delegation, headed by Transport Minister Kamel Al-Wazir, and accompanied by Egypt's Ambassador to Tokyo, Mohamed Abu Bakr, laid wreath of roses during the funeral ceremony of the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Abe was cremated days after his assassination by a man in his forties while giving a campaign speech in Nara city in western Japan. A private funeral had been held earlier for Abe at the Zojoji temple.
The European Union's top trade official said Saturday that a Japan-EU free trade deal was "almost there."
