Head of the Libyan National Army Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar will visit Rome on September 26 upon an invitation from Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti.
Marco Minniti on Thursday proposed a pact with Libya to combat human trafficking during a visit to Tripoli to meet mayors of cities affected by the scourge.
The interior ministers of France, Germany and Italy will meet in Paris on Sunday to discuss a "coordinated approach" to help Italy deal with hordes of migrants.
