Cairo Bike
Cairo Governorate will inaugurate Thursday the first phase of the Cairo Bike project as the first public bike-sharing system in Egypt, coinciding with Egypt’s preparations to host the Climate Summit (COP27), and its keenness to provide healthy and environmentally friendly transportation.
"The project will be launched and operated after the completion of the 26 stations within the first phase," said Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal.
The bike project to move between stations in downtown Cairo, for one Egyptian pound per hour.
The "Cairo Bike" project will be implemented in two phases, the first in mid-July, with 250 bikes distributed over 26 stations, the Governor said. Meanwhile, the second phase will be in mid-September, comprising 250 bicycles.
