CAIRO-25 December 2020: Hussein El Sayed, former Zamalek captain and deputy director of the club’s executive committee, stated that Ferjani Sassi will stay at Zamalek, denying all rumours that linked him with a move away from the club this winter.
“Sassi is one of the most loyal players in our squad and he wants to continue his journey with the club.” El Sayed said on Friday.
Sassi’s contract with the club ends the next summer and he is eligible to sign for any club for free this January transfer window.
El Sayed added “He told me that he wants to stay at the club but he just wants to receive his overdue wages to renew his contract with the club.”
Sassi joined the club from Saudi giants Al Nasr in 2018 summer and he played a key role in the club’s recent successes including winning the CAF Confederation Cup title, Egyptian Cup title, Egyptian Super Cup title and the CAF Super Cup title.
On a similar note, El Sayed added that the club has completed the deal with Youssef Obama to renew his contract with the club.
