CAIRO – 12 September 2019: Egypt’s CrossFit team will be making history as they enter their first iF3 Masters World Championships which will take place on the 25th, 26th and 27th of October 2019.
The event, which will take place in Queensland, Australia, will be the first for the Egyptian CrossFit athletes who will be able to test themselves on an international level.
CrossFit is focused on "constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement," drawing on categories and exercises such as calisthenics, Olympic-style weightlifting, powerlifting, Strongman-type events, plyometrics, body weight exercises, indoor rowing, aerobic exercise, running, and swimming.
Despite competing on a regional level here in Egypt, this will be a historic moment CrossFit athletes travelling for the Masters World Championships.

Yusuf Malik, a crossfit player, said the crossfit includes many activities including weight lifting, gymnastics, abdominal and back training, two-man training, cardio and wheel.
“The if3 Masters World Championship is being held for the first time in the world. The game is suitable for all ages and also children because it works to tighten the muscles of the body and stimulate blood circulation.” Youssef Nader said to Egypt today.
“We formed the first team of champions over 35 to participate in the first Crossfit World cup in Australia. We perform a daily exercise for 60 minutes, to maintain the player's fitness and training on various skills.” He added.

Egypt will be sending eleven athletes to Australia for the competition, all over 35 years of age, competing in different age categories and all have met the qualifying criteria in order to be selected.
Each country is allowed three men and women athletes for each age category except for hosts Australia who are aloud additional athletes for the event.

President of the International Fitness Federation Gretchen Kittelberger expressed her delight on the obvious growth of the sport, “We are excited to be able to offer an event at the international level for athletes who wish to support the growth of the sport and our mission to be part of the iF3 system.”
