AFCON Opening Ceremony - FILE
CAIRO, 25June 2019:If you’re not feeling the hotness of AFCON matches; prepare yourself for the next six days starting from Wednesday, the 26th of June.
Raising the number of participating teams to 24 was a right decision from CAF as it gave a chance for countries to participate for the first time. Also it gave the people of these countries the passion to watch the tournament. And all of us know the feeling of watching the tournament as a participant when Egypt participated in Russia’s 2018 World Cup.
But on the other hand, we watched a plenty of monotonous & tedious matches. No much goals, experienced teams played their matches with no passion, the spectators weren’t amused by the performance of those teams.
Now, here comes the sun. The real matches will be played between big countries starting from Wednesday. Some teams have to decide their qualification and others have to revive their chances. But for sure, all the teams need to win so why we are set to get much football.
