CAIRO – 27 December 2017: Manchester City Ivorian midfielder, Yaya Toure announced on Tuesday that he is ready to wear the Ivory Coast national team jersey again after he had announced his International retirement in 2016.

“I love my country and I am available for national team selection. I want to help the next generation and use my experience to make all Ivoirians proud!!” Toure tweeted on Tuesday.

Toure, 34, played his last game with the national team wearing captain armband in the 2015 African Cup of Nations final, when Ivory Coast was crowned Champions after defeating Ghana in penalty shots.

Toure represented Ivory Coast at 113 games between 2004 and 2015, according to Skysports. He featured in three World Cup tournaments and five African Cup of Nations.

Toure hopes to revive Ivory Coast national team as they failed to qualify to the 2018 World Cup in Russia; they came second in their group at the World Cup qualifiers, behind Morocco.
