CAIRO – 12 November 2017: Egyptian Football Federation Member Magdy Abdel Ghany believes that Mohamed Salah`s, Egyptian National Team and Liverpool`s player, absence affected the Egyptian team a lot in their clash against Ghana.
Egypt ended their journey in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with a 1-1 draw against Ghana match, which was held at Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
Egypt has already qualified for the World Cup since the fifth round after beating Congo 2-1 at Borg el-Arab Stadium. The national team still occupies the first place of the group, which includes Congo, Ghana and Uganda.
Abdel Ghany spoke to Mega FM radio program after the match: “The team was affected by the absence of Mohamed Salah in Ghana`s match.”
“I hope we show our personality like Morocco`s National Team.” He added.
Morocco qualified for the World Cup for the first time since the 1998 tournament in France. The team beat Ivory Coast 2-0 on Saturday in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
“It`s a good score, but we need to play better. I thought it was a friendly match.” He said.
“I will ask Hector Cuper if we can play more friendly matches without the players who play abroad.” He concluded.
