CAIRO – 4 October 2017: Egyptian National team manager, Ehab Lehita, said on Wednesday that midfielder Abdallah El Said could recover from his muscle injury before the game against Congo on Sunday at the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.
“Abdallah will have a medical checkup on Wednesday and if he passes it, he will participate against Congo,” Lehita told TV program “El Ghandour and the fans.”
Lehita spoke about players’ spirit in the camp saying, “All the players are training hard especially Mahmoud Abdelmonem (Kahraba) who does his best to play the game.”
El Said and Kahraba suffered from muscle injuries during their participations with their clubs Al Ahly, and Saudi Arabian club, Al Ittihad respectively.
Egypt faces Congo at the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday; this game could be the qualifying game if Egypt won and Uganda lost any point in their match against Ghana on Sunday.
Egypt tops Group E with nine points, two points away from the second placed Uganda. Ghana collected five points to place third, while Congo is at the bottom with one point.
