Egypt’s women win Arab Championship

10August:Egypt’s women Basketball team won over Tunisia 74-62 in Arab Championship final on Thursday at hall 3 of the covered halls complex of the Cairo International Stadium to achieve the title.


Egypt started the match with a great desire to achieve the title in front of Egyptian fans; they dominated the game from the first moment, they won the four halves, 17-15, 18-13, 11-14 and 28-20 respectively to end the game 74-62.

Egypt’s women continued their amazing run in the tournament winning all games, they defeated Iraq in the first round with a score of 114-51, then beating Tunisia in the second round with a score of 65-60 and defeating Jordan with a score of 97-53 in the third round.

They also won over Iraq in the semi-finals 110-61 to qualify for the final.

Only four teams participated in this edition of the tournament after many Arab teams apologized from participating in the tournament.

Arab Championship is held at hall 3 of the covered halls complex of the Cairo International Stadium from August 5 to 10 August.
