CAIRO – 15 August 2020: Egypt’s tourist city of Hurghada in the Red Sea governorate received on Friday the first tourist flight from Macedonia, stated the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism in a statement
The flight took off from Skopje, the Macedonian capital, with 175 tourists on board.
Meanwhile, the city received also a flight from Belgrade with 185 tourists on board, and three flights from the Ukrainian capital Kiev with 572 tourists, the statement added.
Since July 1, 2020, Egypt opened three governorates for foreign tourism, including South Sinai, the Red Sea, and Marsa Matrouh after it was recorded zero coronavirus (COVID-19) cases there.
On Friday, the city of Sharm el-Sheikh in South Sinai Governorate received 5 flights coming from Ukraine.
The number of tourists coming to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh since the beginning of the resumption of movement reached more than 85,000 tourists.
