CAIRO – 18 May 2017: Egypt witnessed an increase of 51 percent in inbound tourism from different markets in the first quarter (Q1) of 2017 compared to last year, the chairperson of the Tourism Development Authority (TDA), Hisham el-Demery said in a press statement on Thursday.

Demiry pointed out that this was the result of continuous efforts from the Ministry of Tourism and TDA, and the launching of systematic advertising campaigns in 11 countries since mid-September.

He clarified that the promotional campaign for Egypt in the Arab market will start at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and will continue until Eid al-Fitr in several Arab countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan and the Gulf countries.
