Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is the path that awakens the inner soul to his or her true destiny. Kundalini energy, which is located at the base of the spine, offers the possibility for every human to bring their greatness to the forefront of their life. Despite the challenges and stresses of daily life, when awakened, Kundalini energy increases the human’s capacity to deal with challenges, tolerate differences and shine his or her own inner light, power and greatness in the world.
Traditionally, the Adi Shakti is known to be one of the most ancient symbols of the sacred feminine. The oldest form of prayer, the Adi Shakti symbolizes the lone woman, her arms raised in the sky, curved in a graceful arc, as if holding the entire world and supplicating the universe to align itself with her sword. This ancient symbol is the key to unlocking the power of our own sacred feminine. It reminds us of our infinity, our divinity. (For more, pick up a copy of Grace of God).
Kundalini is the base form of energy, which rises up the seven main energy channels of the body—known as “chakras”—and transforms into any thought, action, word or deed. The Adi Shakti allows for this creative transformation to happen. It is the vehicle that connects the human to the infinite power of the Creator himself. Just as the soul is part of the Creator, the human has the capacity to co-create with the Creator himself. When this happens, the human is able to manifest the power of the Creator here on earth.
For example, think of the sperm and the egg. When they are kept apart, they are symbols of what can be manifested. When they come together, they morph into an embryo, which becomes an unborn baby who carries the soul and the spirit of God here on earth. As the baby grows into an adult, he or she has the choice of tapping into his inner potential and power and wakening the force of the Adi Shakti to manifest his unique talents, skills and passions into the world to serve all people and things.
Creating a baby is one form of creative manifestation, but there are many more. Every day, we have new opportunities to manifest divine force of the Creator here on earth. Manifest the power of your soul into the realm of the mind through thought, into the realm of the body through shape, movement and form, and into the realm of action through the power of will are just some of ways that you can draw upon your own Adi Shakti in your daily life.
