Haidy Shehta: Another Victim of Fake Images and Electronic Extortion

Less than a month ago, the nation was shaken over the heartbreaking news of Bassant Khaled, a 17-year old girl who committed suicide over photoshopped images and blackmailing. Today, again, we witness the exact same story repeated over again.

This morning, the story of Haidy Shehta took over the news and social media. The 15-year old girl from Sharkia has taken her own life last after being subject to fake images and blackmail. The toxic pill she took killed her instantly. According to the news, Haidy committed suicide after she received fake images of herself which were spread on social media. According to her sister and other family members, Haidy’s friend and her family, which are also neighbors, are behind this horrific incident where they photoshopped images of Haidy blackmailing her family for money. Unable to handle the pressure and torment, little Haidy took her life.

The police forces have already arrested one of the people involved in this cream and investigations are still running to reveal further details.
