Application for Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature extended to April 15

CAIRO – 16 March 2021: The Supreme Council of Culture announced extending the application period for Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature in Egypt and the Arab world until April 15, 2021.

The prize value is LE 75,000 for the best Egyptian novel, and LE 75,000 for the best Arabic novel.

The conditions of participation are as follows:

1)The award is given to the best published novels that were released during the years 2019/2020 for Egyptians and Arabs living abroad.

2)The contestant must not submit the same story to another competition until the      contest result is announced.

3)The novel should not have won an award in other competitions.

4)Contestants must submit four PDF copies of the novel.

5)Works are not recovered after they have been checked.

The deadline for receiving the works is April 15, 2021.
