Egypt’s Bibliotheca Alexandrina announce receiving applications for Abdel Rahman el-Abnoudi Competition for Colloquial Poetry

CAIRO – 27 October 2020: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina decided Tuesday to receive applications for participating in the third edition of the Late Poet Abdel Rahman el-Abnoudi Competition for Colloquial Poetry and Critical Studies.

The competition is hosted by Bayt al-Sinnari [Al-Sinnari House] affiliated to the  BA’s Cultural Communication Sector, in recognition of the poet’s enriching journey in consolidating the creativity values represented in various art forms.

The works are received for the two branches of the award starting from November 1 until January 31, 2021. Participating works must be submitted at the Al-Sinnari House.

The short list of the winners will be announced on the birth anniversary of the late legendary poet on April 11, 2021, and the prizes will be awarded in a major ceremony on April 21, 2021, on the date of his passing.

The winner of the first place of both the branches of the competition will be awarded L.E 30,000, and the winner of the second place in each of the two branches will be awarded L.E 20,000.
