CAIRO - 4 September 2019: In its 26th edition, Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater honors artist Khaled el Sawy, for his theatrical work as a writer, director and actor.
He is also one of the founders of the independent theater movement and founded the “Haraka” theater movement, which presented many theatrical works. Some of those theatrical works participated in previous editions of the Experimental Theater Festival.
The press conference of the 26th edition of the Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Conference Hall of the Supreme Council of Culture at 5 pm, in the presence of Sameh Mahran, Chairman of the Festival, Dina Amin, Director of the Festival and the poet Mohamed Bahgat, Chairman of the Media Committee.
It is noteworthy that the Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater is chaired by Sameh Mahran and will start on September 10. It will resume until Sept. 19.
The Arab participation in it has so far reached 87 shows representing 16 Arab countries. Tunisia topped the Arab participation with fifteen theatrical performances in addition to two co-productions between Arab and foreign countries.
