CAIRO – 26 August 2018: In a touch of loyalty, Jordanian Minister of Culture Basma al-Nsour, named the Jordanian National Theatre’s library after late artist Yasser Al Masri.

Al Masri passed away suddenly on Thursday August 23. The initiative was taken by the Jordanian minister of Culture, Basma al-Nsour, as a tribute to the late Jordanian-Kuwaiti artist.

The library was founded a year ago and consists of everything related to the Jordanian Theatre and playwrights.

Al Masry died after a car accident, which left the local artistic community shocked in the 3rd day of Eid el-Adha (Muslim Feast).

Jordanian Prime minister, Omar Razzaz, along with members or the Jordanian Artists Syndicate and several Arab artists, all expressed their sadness and condolences for the death of the late artist, at the age of 48.

The late artist left a rich career of drama series behind him, such as (Moon Fist), “Nimr bin Udwan”, “Al-Anood” and others.

Al Masri was able to spread his name across the entire Pan-Arab region through dramatic works such as “El Gama’a 2” (The Brotherhood) Part 2, in which he co-operated with famed scenarist Wahid Hamed and achieved phenomenal success, along with “Kaf el Qamar” (Moon Face) and others.

Yasser Al Masri is a Jordanian actor born in Kuwait in 1970. He graduated from the Jordanian Academy of Music. His breakthrough role was in the series “Nimr bin Udwan,” in which he played the lead.

He played roles in other television series with historical or nomadic settings, like “Abu Ja'afar Almansour” and “Thy Qar.”

His first role in an Egyptian series was in “Taht El Ard” (Underground) in 2013.
