CAIRO – 28 March 2021: This current week will be busy on all cultural levels, as four Egyptian and Arab competitions in literature and arts are scheduled to announce their winners for 2021.
The International Award for Arabic Fiction will announce on March 28 the shortlisted novels of the 2021 round.
The list will include six novels that were released between the first of July 2019 and the end of August 2020, and chosen from 121 novels that applied for the award. Nominated writers are competing to win the grand prize of $50,000.
Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts announced holding the Arts Awards ceremony for the second session of 2021 for competitions in photography - sculpture - art criticism - photography – architecture, and the inauguration of a group exhibition for youth under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, on March 30, at 6 p.m. at the Gezira Arts Center in Zamalek.
The American University in Cairo Press is holding the award ceremony for the 24th edition of Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature 2021, in the presence of the award jury and AUC President Francis Ricciardone. The ceremony will be broadcast via ZOOM on March 31 at 6:30 p.m.
Adam Haneen Foundation for the Art of Sculpture will announce on March 31 at 6 p.m. the prizes for the Adam Haneen Sculpture Art competition, at El-Hanager Art Center. An exhibition of works that have reached the finals will be held in Adam Hanin Hall.
