CAIRO – 10 October 2020: Arab Bridge Maritime Company resumed the operation of Nuweibaa -Aqaba maritime transport line from both directions, Al-Maal news reported on Friday.

A station at Aqaba port was allocated to be a maritime outlet for the passengers who are coming from Egypt, putting into consideration the protective measures against the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The first passenger flight from Nuweibaa to Aqaba will operate on the14th of October, the newspaper said.

On October 4, 2020, a Jordanian, Egyptian, and Iraqi tripartite ministerial meeting was held to implement the outcomes of the tripartite summit that was held in Amman last August between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Jordanian King Abdullah II, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Ammon news agency reported.

The meeting was held by the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Jamae, Jordanian counterpart Tariq Al-Hammouri, and the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Al-Khabaz.

In late August, the three leaders agreed on establishing a new ground road to Egypt through the Jordanian territories. It was also agreed on creating an electricity linkage and an oil pipeline to enhance the tripartite cooperation.

The first trilateral summits were held in Cairo in March 2019, while the second one convened in New York in September of the same year, on the sidelines of the current United Nations General Assembly meetings.
