CAIRO - 15 June 2020: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Monday announced an increase in bank deposits by around LE 120 billion by the end of March to reach LE 4.426 trillion against LE 4.306 trillion in February.
The total governmental deposits at banks increased by LE 55 billion to reach LE 675.7 billion pounds against LE 620 billion by the end of February.
The governmental deposits stood at LE 582.6 billion in local currency and around LE 93.06 billion in foreign currency, the CBE said in a report, a copy of which was obtained by MENA.
The total non-governmental deposits at banks until March increased to LE 3.750 trillion compared to LE 3.658 trillion in February, the report added.
The total value of the non-governmental deposits recorded LE 3.103 trillion in local currency and about LE 646.6 billion in hard currency, the report noted.
