CAIRO – 22 June 2017: Bilateral trade between Egypt and Indonesia was valued at $1.46 billion (LE 26.2 billion) in 2016, Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Tarek Kabil announced Thursday.
Indonesian investments in Egypt recorded $40 million in the sectors of chemical industrial, carbon black and glass, Kabil said in a statement from the ministry.
A delegation of Indonesian companies will visit Egypt in the second half of 2017 in preparation for a visit between President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo in that period, Kabil noted.
The visit will tackle possibilities of boosting trade and economic relations between both countries, and methods of increasing Egyptian exports to Jakarta.
