CAIRO - 3 September 2019: Egypt's exports of furniture have declined in the period between January and July 2019 by 22.6 percent, reaching 158.1 million dollars down from $204.3 million during the same period of 2018, according to the Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC).
The EFEC, in a statement Tuesday, said Saudi Arabia was the top importer of Egyptian furniture with a value of $39 million.
The UAE came second in the list of importers with $21 million, then Oman with $18 million dollars and Iraq with $13 million.
Egypt's exports of furniture to Jordan amounted to about $10 million while those to Sudan hit about $9 million, followed by Libya with $7 million.
Furniture exports to Lebanon reached five million dollars, followed by the US with $4 million and Nigeria with $3 million.
Italy's imports of Egyptian furniture also stood at $3 million and Morocco's at two million.
Exports to other countries totaled $22 million.
