CAIRO – 5 April 2018: Gold ranked first on the list of Egypt's top ten non-oil exports in February, with the volume of exported Egyptian gold during that month hitting $161 million, the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC) said on Thursday.
In its report, the GOEIC said kerosene came second in the top ten ranking, with the value of Egypt's total exports of the product in February reaching $103 million, followed by urea whose value amounted to $61 million.
Methanol came in the fourth place with total exports of $35 million, while LCD screens took the fifth position with a total export value of $33 million and the white spirit in the sixth place with total exports worth $28 million, the report added.
Aromatic oils came in the seventh place with net export value of $26 million, followed by electrical cables and connectors with total exports hitting $26 million, the report noted.
Carpet exports came in the ninth place fetching $23 million and wooden furniture in the tenth position fetching $23 million, the report read.
Egypt's total non-oil exports in February 2018 stood at $1.998 billion against $1.776 billion in February of 2017, with an increase rate of 13 percent.
