CAIRO - 11 June 2024: Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed on Tuesday, that the value of trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan reached $864 million during the year 2023, compared to $990 million during the year 2022.
CAPMAS report added that the value of Egyptian exports to Jordan reached $658 million during the year 2023, compared to $732 million during the year 2022.
The value of Egyptian imports from Jordan reached $206 million in 2023, compared to $259 million in 2022.
Some of the most important items of goods that Egypt exported to Jordan during 2023:
1. Fuel and mineral oils worth $107 million.
2. Vegetable, fruit and food preparations worth $73.4 million.
3. Vegetables and fruits worth $60.6 million.
4. Machinery and electrical appliances worth $40.6 million.
5. Ready-made clothing worth $41 million.
Some of the most important groups of goods that Egypt imported from Jordan during 2023:
1. Fertilizers worth $105.6 million.
2. Pharmaceutical products worth $21.8 million.
3. Plastics and their products worth $16 million.
4. Various commodity groups worth $48.6 million.
The value of Jordanian remittances in Egypt amounted to $415.3 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $792.9 million during the fiscal year 2021/2022, while the value of transfers from Jordanians working in Egypt amounted to $5.6 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $9.6 million during the fiscal year 2021/2022.
The value of Jordanian investments in Egypt amounted to $134 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $119 million during the fiscal year 2021/2022. While the value of Egyptian investments in Jordan amounted to $183.6 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $226.2 million during the fiscal year 2021. /2022
