CAIRO – 9 May 2024: The Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt and Jordan's Media Authority came together to sign a cooperative protocol, marking a step towards bolstering bilateral collaboration in the media sector.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Egypt's Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, and Jordan's Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh at the conclusion of the 32nd session of the Joint Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee.
The protocol encompassed a wide range of areas, with particular emphasis on emerging media technologies and cutting-edge advancements.
It also emphasized the governance and regulation of digital platforms, recognizing their growing significance in the media landscape.
Moreover, the collaborative agreement placed special attention on fostering cooperation in the domain of children's media.
This involved the exchange of legislative expertise and shared experiences, aiming to enhance the quality and impact of media content targeted toward young audiences.
Furthermore, the objective of the collaboration was to strengthen media cooperation by developing strategies to address the challenges faced by Arab media as a whole.
As part of this initiative, Jordanian journalists and media executives were extended invitations to visit Egypt and engage with their counterparts in various print, radio, and television institutions.
The purpose was to facilitate a closer understanding of the developments taking place within the Egyptian media landscape.
