Minimum wage raised to LE3.5K, LE3K in gov’t, private sectors

CAIRO - 20 June 2023: Minimum wage has increased six times during the presidency of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, benefiting the employees of both the government and public sectors. 

The latest raise amounted to L.E.3,500 in March 2023 for all employees of the government sector.

The minimum wages increased by  L.E.1,200 from 2017, which was L.E. 2,700.

The raise will be applied in July 2023. 

Also in July, the minimum wage for the private sector will increase from L.E.2,700 to L.E.3,000.
