Egypt, Oman sign MoUs on taxation, financial policies

CAIRO – 22 May 2023: Minister of Finance Mohamed Mait and Omani counterpart Sultan Bin Salem al-Habsi signed Monday an MoU to avoid double taxation and tax evasion, and another pertaining to financial policies and advancements.

The two ministers also attended, along with the ministers of trade and industry as well as the chairman of the investment agency in Oman, the Egyptian-Omani Business Forum held to acquaint the Egyptian business community with investment opportunities in the neighboring Arab state.

The convention comes in tandem with the state visit by Sultan Haitham Bin Tareq to Cairo, as he was received by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Sunday. Omani Ambassador to Cairo Abdallah Bin Nasser al-Rahbi noted that his country had begun preparing an investment map since 2021.
