CAIRO - 27 April 2023: Finance Minister Mohamed Maait has issued a decision on the regulations for enforcing minimum wage for government employees as of this month.
The Finance Ministry said in a statement that the enforcement of the minimum wage is part of procedures taken under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to alleviate the ramifications of the global economic crisis on the citizens.
Under these directives, the minimum wage for government employees is set to range between LE 3,500 and LE 10,500.
The president also ordered raising the minimum wage for those government employees who hold a Master's degree to be LE 6,000 and for those who hold a PhD to LE 7,000.
