CAIRO - 24 January 2023: Egyptian exports continue to achieve positive results during 2022, as the medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries sector achieved remarkable increases, bringing the increase rates to 38.8 percent as follows.
An increase in exports of medicines, cosmetics, and supplies, was recorded, hitting $968 million, compared to $697 million in 2021.
The sector's exports witnessed great development over the past three years.
Exports achieved a 200% increase compared to 2019 exports before the coronavirus pandemic.
Exports of medical industries and supplies achieve an increase of no less than 30%.
The medical and pharmaceutical industries sector focuses on the African market during 2023.
Establishment of 6 logistic centers in a number of African countries "Kenya-Morocco-Mauritius-Nigeria-Zambia-Algeria"
The Export Council is working on a new proposal to establish logistic centers, which aims to appoint a local representative in the logistic center to communicate with wholesalers in importing countries, which will achieve greater effectiveness in concluding deals. This proposal is being discussed with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
