CAIRO – 10 November 2021: The trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan has witnessed a significant increase in conjunction with the development in the bilateral relations at the political levels in recent years.
Based on the data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics monitored the development of economic relations between Egypt and Jordan during the first half of 2021, et displays the main economic development steps between both countries:
1- The value of trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan recorded $430.8 million in the first half of 2021, compared to $341.3 million during the same period in 2020, with an increase of 26.2 percent.
2- The value of Egyptian exports to Jordan amounted to $348 million during the first half of 2021, compared to $274.3 million during the same period in 2020, with an increase of 26.9 percent.
3- The value of Egyptian imports from Jordan recorded 82.8 million dollars during the first half of 2021, compared to 66.9 million dollars during the same period in 2020, with an increase of 23.7 percent.
4- The value of remittances from Egyptians working in Jordan recorded $678.5 million during the fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $654.2 million during the fiscal year 2018/2019, with an increase of 3.7 percent.
5- The remittances of Jordanians working in Egypt amounted to $11.1 million during the fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $17.7 million during the fiscal year 2018/2019, recording a decrease of 37.5 percent.
6- The value of Jordanian investments in Egypt amounted to 41 million dollars during the first half of the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to 7 million dollars during the same period in 2019/2020, recording an increase of 485.7 percent.
7- The number of Egyptians present in Jordan, according to the mission’s estimates, reached 920,000 Egyptians until the end of 2020, while the number of Egyptians in Jordan, according to those registered, reached 11.5 thousand Egyptians.
