CAIRO – 3 July 2017: Twenty-five Egyptian workers arrived at Cairo International Airport (CAI) on Monday from Saudi Arabia and Jordan after violating residency and work permits conditions.

The security authorities at the airport received 23 deported Egyptian workers from Saudi Arabia aboard two Saudi flights coming from Jeddah and Riyadh. The two remaining workers arrived aboard a Jordanian flight from the capital Amman.

The Assistant Minister of Interior for Airport Security, Major General Fahmi Mujahid, instructed on Monday to develop a dedicated team of relevant security department officials to speed up the arrival procedures of the deported workers.

The Saudi security authorities, after further security examination, discovered that three of the workers were wanted for committing judicial rulings issues. The authorities detained them for legal proceedings against them.

Earlier in June, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Lebanon deported 44 Egyptian workers for violating residence and work permits.

Saudi Arabia launched in March 2017 the campaign ‘a homeland without violators’ in which the kingdom seeks to resolve the situation of work and residence permits violations. The campaign was announced to last for 90 days.
