In a statement released on Thursday, Mahrasawi said the decision comes in light of the State's keenness to preserve the safety and health of students, teaching staff and administrators, amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

He added that the mid-year vacation would last from February 6 until 18, noting that the number of staffers at the colleges would be reduced.
