Initiative launched to raise Egyptians’ awareness on wearing masks when using metro, train

CAIRO – 30 November 2020: Ministry of Transport launched an initiative to raise awareness on the necessity of wearing masks while using the metro or the train for daily travels.

Under the name “Maintain your safety, and others’ too,” the initiative aims to raise public awareness of the need to wear masks before entering railway or metro stations amid the country’s efforts to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Both the Railway authority, and the metro company assured that they will continue providing masks at the ticket counters at stations for sale to the public.

During the monthly meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo titled “Transport Sector in Egypt: Developments and Opportunities,” Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir ensured that all anti-COVID-19 precautionary measures are taken to protect workers at the sector and passengers.
