CAIRO – 27 May 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received a call Tuesday from India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he greeted him on the occasion of the Islamic holiday of Eid Al-Fitr (feast of breaking the fast).
Spokesperson Bassam Rady added that Modi affirmed his country's pride of the mutual ties and close relations with Egypt. He also referred to the vital political vital role that Egypt is playing in a balanced manner at the regional and international levels.
Sisi thanked Modi for his call and greetings, stressing that Egypt and India have strong historical relations. The president highlighted Egypt's keenness on boosting the mutual relations in different fields, especially the investment and medical fields.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern, especially regarding experiences and best practices of containing and controlling the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
