CAIRO – 20 June 2017: An Administrative Court rejected on Tuesday an appeal filed by businessman Safwan Thabet over the confiscation of his assets and properties.

The committee responsible for appraising and freezing assets of the Muslim Brotherhood had ordered the confiscation of Thabet's assets more a year ago.

Thabet's appeal no. 456 for judicial year no. 70 stated that the committee's confiscation decision was illegal and unconstitutional.

The appeal denied that Thabet was part of the Brotherhood despite his family ties with Hassan al-Hodeiby, a former general guide of the Muslim Brotherhood.
