Health Ministry: 36 new COVID-19 cases detected, 80 recovered

CAIRO - 25 March 2020: The Health Ministry announced that 36 new cases, including one foreigner, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections to 402 till Tuesday.

In a press conference, Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said that 12 coronavirus cases were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, as per WHO technical guidelines, taking the total number of recoveries to 80.

The recovered cases included three foreigners and nine Egyptians, he added.

Egypt recorded the 20th fatality today after a 54-year-old woman from Alexandria died from the virus, he noted.
