Intelligence Chief delivers Sisi's congratulations to S.Sudan

CAIRO - 10 March 2020: Egypt’s Director-General of the General Intelligence Service Major General Abbas Kamel on Tuesday handed over a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

President Sisi congratulated Mayardit on inking the peace agreement, showing Egypt's full support for South Sudan to achieve peace and stability.

The meeting tackled bilateral relations and ways of achieving joint cooperation.

Kamel also met South Sudan's First Vice President Riek Machar, congratulating him on the peace deal.

He also discussed combating terrorism with Tut Gatluak, the presidential adviser on security affairs, and Thomas Duoth Guet, the director-general of National Security Service (NSS).

The South Sudanese president thanked Egypt for its security and medical aid to alleviate flood damage.
