CAIRO – 14 January 2020: Egypt’s Embassy in Amman is following up on the collapse of part of a school wall in Irbid city northern of Jordan, on Sunday, January 12, which led to the death of three Egyptian nationals and the injury of two others.
In a Tuesday statement, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the embassy contacted the local authorities in Irbid and some members of the Egyptian community to follow up and take all the necessary measures after the accident.
Consul Amr Yousry and labor advisor at the embassy Talaat al-Sayed headed to Irbid to follow up on the procedures of shipping the bodies of the three deceased citizens to Egypt, and to meet the injured.
The embassy representatives also met with officials at the city’s Security Center to follow up on the accident’s investigations, ensuring that the families of the victims will receive their rights.The embassy representatives also extended their condolences to the victims’ relatives and families.
Jordanian Interior Minister Salameh Hammad arrived in Cairo Saturday afternoon on a two-day visit.He was scheduled to discuss with Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq means of boosting bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments in the region.
