CAIRO – 1 September 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Saturday with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, during his official visit to Kuwait.
The meeting addressed developments of regional issues of mutual concern. The two leaders affirmed in this regard the importance of supporting Arab cooperation during the current stage which poses unprecedented challenges to the Arab nations.
Sheikh Sabah also expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's role in promoting stability, security and development in the Arab world, as well as its efforts seeking political settlement for the existing crises in the region, in a way that preserves the unity and sovereignty of the countries and safeguards the resources of their peoples.
Sisi also met on Saturday with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.
The two sides discussed the development of the close security cooperation between the two countries, in light of their common will to fight terrorism and confront extremist ideology, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The President thanked the Kuwaiti Emir, government and people for hosting and caring for the Egyptian community their country. He also expressed appreciation for the role played by the Kuwaiti authorities to facilitate and secure all the electoral benefits for Egyptians residing in the State of Kuwait, Radi added.
Sisi was received by Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. They are expected to hold talks focusing on enhancing bilateral relations in a way to serve mutual interests.
