Ministers tasked to study Egyptian-Jordanian-Iraqi projects

CAIRO - 27 March 2019: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced in the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday that a group of ministers will be tasked with studying the implementation of joint Egyptian-Jordanian-Iraq projects pertinent to housing, transportation networks, and electricity linkage.

The prime minister pointed out that the Egyptian-Iraqi Supreme Committee will convene in April to endorse a number of bilateral projects.

A tripartite Egyptian-Jordanian-Iraqi summit was held in Cairo on March 24, 2019. It included President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and President of the Republic of Iraq Adel Abdul Mahdi. The summit tackled the coordination and integration among the three countries.

The topics covered in the meeting included countering terrorism; the Palestinian cause and the rights of Palestinian people; continuous coordination over regional and international matters of mutual interest; development of joint industrial zones; and cooperation in energy, infrastructure, reconstruction and other sectors.
