In full cooperation with the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces, the Egyptian Air Forces have launched six air strikes against terrorist camps in Derna, eastern Libya, destroying terrorists' camps completely on Friday evening.

According to the video, the air strikes were launched upon request from President Abdel fatah al-Sisi who hold an emergency meeting with the chairpersons of the security bodies, following Minya attack, in which at least 28 Copts, including children, were shot dead, and 25 other injured.

“The concentrated airstrikes were launched against terrorists gatherings inside the Libya territories after it has been confirmed that they (the terrorists) participated in committing and carrying out the brutal terrorist attack, which took place today (Friday) in Minya governorate,” according to the army’s statement in the video.

The airstrike campaign is the second announced military operation carried out by the Egyptian air forces against the terrorists inside Libya. On Feb. 16, 2015, the Egyptian Armed Forces launched airstrikes against the Islamic State group’s camps in Libya following mass execution of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians whom were kidnapped in 2015 January by IS militants.
