CAIRO - 1 October 2018: In the presence of Transport Minister Hisham Arafat, a memorandum of understanding was signed Monday between the Railway Authority and a "dream and determination" foundation for persons with special needs.

Under the MoU, two metro stations should be equipped to serve persons with disabilities, Arafat said in a statement.

The deal is part of a project to equip the different transport means in Greater Cairo to be fit for use by persons with disabilities, elderly and pregnant women, Arafat noted.

The two metro stations that should be upgraded for easier use by persons with disabilities are "Cairo University" and "Faysal", he made it clear.

Ramps will be established at entry and departure points at the two stations, Arafat said. He said persons with disabilities will also find it easier to buy tickets, with workers at the two metro stations always there to offer a helping hand.
