CAIRO - 28 September 2018: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry participated on Friday in a meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the fringe of the 73rd meetings of the UN General Assembly.

The foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan were present, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu-Zeid said in a tweet.

"Pompeo, during the meeting, offered initial proposals for security cooperation in the region," added Abu Zeid.

Further discussions will be held on the proposals.
