CAIRO – 29 April 2017: Egypt’s Ambassador to Jordan Tarek Adel visited Friday the Egyptian citizens injured in a fire near the headquarters of the Jordanian Cabinet, Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Ministry stated Friday.

The embassy also finalized the necessary procedures to ship the bodies of two citizens who passed away in the incident which took place on Thursday.

The injured citizens are receiving the necessary treatment in the Intensive Care Unit, under the supervision of a specialized medical team, Adel stated. He added that one of the injured is in a critical condition, suffering from severe burns, while the others are relatively stable. They are expected to be released within two days.

Jordanian Prime Minister Hany Al-Mulki has also visited the injured in the hospital, “in a humanitarian gesture to express his appreciation of the Egyptian community and workers in Jordan,” the statement read.

According to Jordanian media outlets, the fire broke out in one of the Jordanian Cabinet's buildings due to maintenance work, killing two Egyptian employees and injuring three others.
