CAIRO - 20 January 2018: The injured Egyptian expatriate, who was assaulted by a Jordanian, has left a hospital in Jordan after receiving medical care, said Egyptian Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saffan in a statement on Saturday.
Shaban Bahi was stabbed and suffered from severe bleeding next to the heart.
Saffan assured that the status of the injured Egyptian is stable according to a report dispatched by the Egyptian Embassy in Amman.
In December 2017, three Egyptian expats were assaulted in three different Arab countries.
The first accident took place in Kuwait when an Egyptian expatriate was attacked by a Kuwaiti citizen due to a dispute over motorcycle reparation in December 2017. The Egyptian man was seriously injured and taken to hospital. 10 days later, another Egyptian citizen working in Saudi Arabia was stabbed with a knife by four Saudi youths.
The third incident occurred in the same month, when an Egyptian expatriate in Jordan was injured after clashes erupted between him and a Jordanian citizen over a financial dispute which resulted in causing a fracture on his skull.
More than 1.6 million Egyptian expatriates are living in Jordan, according to a report issued by the Central Agency of Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in October 2017.
