CAIRO – 28 November 2017: The independent Nasserite Movement (al-Morabitoun) organized a pause Monday in front of the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut in solidarity with Egypt.
Head of the movement in Lebanon, Brigadier General Mustafa Hamdan, said that the Egyptian leadership, people, and armed forces have been at the forefront of Arabs in defending Arab national security.
Speaking about the Muslim Brotherhood group, Hamdan said the Muslim Brotherhood “gangs” are the roots of terrorism, and that they come under many names including Daesh (Islamic State), al-Nusra front and others.
Presidents of various countries, including, the U.S., France, Lebanon, Hungary, Jordan, and Yemen, sent earlier cables of condolences to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi over the attack, and expressed support for all measures taken by the country to eliminate terrorism.
EU's Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, and United Arab Emirates (UAE's) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash also deplored the attack.
Several militants stormed Al-Rawdah Mosque in west Arish City during Friday prayers, according to eyewitnesses, and detonated an explosive device.
Egyptian Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq announced Saturday that the death toll of the Arish attack rose to 305.
