CAIRO – 12 October 2017: The Gaza employees’ problem will be completely resolved by the next meeting held between Palestinian parties in Cairo, according to a Fatah Central Committee member, Azzam Al-Ahmad.

Ahmad’s statement came during a meeting held in Cairo on Thursday, October 12, with Head of Hamas’ political bureau Saleh Al-Arouri.

During the meeting, Ahmad added that Egypt is completely restoring Rafah’s crossing and that the Presidential Guard will spread across the border, as agreed on.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Ahmad praised during the meeting the efforts exerted by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and officials in the intelligence agency in ending the division among the Palestinian factions and completing Palestinian reconciliation.

Ahmad expressed his hope that Saudi Arabia and Jordan will support Egypt in its efforts to end the division in Palestine.

According to the agreement reached during both parties’ meeting in Cairo Thursday, the Palestinian Presidential Guard will administer the border’s affairs.

Both parties arrived in Cairo two days ago to resume reconciliation talks after announcing that the Palestinian Concession Government will assume the affairs of the Gaza Strip last week.
