Azhar lauds role of 'serious media' in promoting correct awareness

CAIRO - 20 August 2017: Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Dr Ahmed el-Tayyeb has voiced appreciation for what he called "objective press and serious media" in promoting correct awareness.

Tayyeb, in a meeting with chairman of the Syndicate of Journalists Abdel Mohsen Salama Sunday, discussed efforts to boost cooperation between Al-Azhar and the Syndicate.

Salama stressed the importance of cooperation with Al-Azhar to fight terrorist and extremist ideologies and promote moderate values.

He greatly appreciated the role played by Al-Ahzar in promoting those moderate values.
