Security forces deployed at Minya attack site in May 2017 - Reuters
CAIRO – 10 August 2017: Police forces killed the perpetrator of a bus attack that took place in Upper Egypt’s Minya in May leaving at least 28 Coptic Christian dead, the Ministry of Interior announced Thursday.
The Islamic State (IS) terror group claimed its responsibility for the attack.
The assailant had also targeted police men in Luxor and assassinated a police officer in Qena governorate, according to the statement.
In the same context, security forces also announced that three men accused of killing two police men in Menoufia, in Nile Delta, on Tuesday. A fire exchange took place between the accused and police forces and lasted for three hours before the three men were announced killed.
